film screenings 160The Gauteng Film Commission (GFC) is joining forces again this year with Constitution Hill, to celebrate the youth of South Africa. Constitution Hill, commemorates the youth of ’76, through a celebration of creative expression at its Annual Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival, and the GFC is honoured to be part of this event.

As per the organisers, this year we are celebrating 25 years of Creative Freedom, the theme of the event. In this, the 25th anniversary of our democracy, the event will demonstrate the commitment to building a stronger and fairer society by exploring issues relating to human rights, democracy and social justice. The Festival will provide a platform to showcase work around these themes through the power of the arts to inspire and engage young audiences. By creating multiple access points to our 2019 Basha Uhuru artistic programme opportunities for creatives to learn, network, collaborate and be inspired will be created.

As part of the event, the Gauteng Film Commission invites you to film screenings at the Basha Uhuru hosted at the Constitution Hill on the 27 & 28 June from 18h00 – 22h00. Come and enjoy free film screenings, celebrate and commemorate youth month as it wraps up.
